He picked "Where's Waldo" from the library
She picked "The Pigeon has feelings too!" by: Mo Willems
I picked their books from Border's and so far they love both of them!
We read all of Flat Stanley in the car today while running errands!
As summer comes to an end so do the summer reading programs. The kids particpated (listened intently while I read) in three different ones, H-E-B, our local library and Border's.
H-E-B you have to read 10 books and send in your form and you receive a free t-shirt, bookmark, sticker, pencil, and certificate of achievement. Our library you set a goal of how many you want to read and then you complete it and you get to pick out a new book from their "cool green cart" as Wyatt would say. Wyatt did the max goal of 25 books and Kailyn did 12 books. We spent one entire day reading (at the table while they ate, outside while they colored, on the couch, the floor, while they were in the bath, etc) and they completed that one in a day. That's 37 books and more than half of them were over 60 pages and they stayed awake and interested the entire time! Lastly, Borders you read 10 books as well and you can pick from the ones they have listed on their form. They love reading and the fact that they get new books they can keep for doing it just adds to the love!
