Penny Ice Cream Shoppe!

We needed dessert tonight and by needed I mean I really, really wanted it. Of course the kids agreed (they always so nice to side with me in the name of sugar) so Travis came to our rescue with the idea of banana splits! He ran to the store to get the fixin's (I just said fixin's I always used to give my sister a hard time for saying fixin and now I've gone and done it!! Sorry TOSH!) and the kids and I set up our ice cream shoppe. I asked how much they wanted to charge and Wyatt said "just one penny. that way everyone can get some, like kids and everybody cause, cause it's only 1 CENT!". I think that it was and IS a fantastic idea. So hopefully there is some super rich person that is reading this and will do just that. Open a penny ice cream shoppe where the ice cream is like 5 pennies a scoop, and 3 pennies per topping BUT you can only pay in pennies. And if you don't pay in all pennies its a higher price (to make up for all the money lost on it only being a couple pennies). That way you'll have the kids excited that they can afford it with their chore money, the older people excited about the "oh back when I was a kid" memories all coming back to life and being a local old fashion ice cream shop all at the same time. I mean how many are those these days?? None. All I ask, dear super rich person, is that you pay off all our school loans for my idea. Think about and let me know.
Ice cream crew.
Kailyn's wearing her beautiful apron she got for her birthday(made by the talented Juli B.) back in March. This is the first time I let her wear. Yes, I know I'm terrible. But it's just so pretty I didn't want her to get it messy! It worked out great though because A, she didn't get it dirty (even if she did it would be okay, I'm not that terrible, promise) and B that left the boys able to match with their aprons.
Wyatt waiting for his first customer.
Daddy was their first customer.
They all alternated between putting a tiny scoop in the bowl and then a scoop in their mouth.
Bowl, mouth, bowl, mouth.
By the end my younger two did away with a spoon all together and started using their fingers.
That's where I finally had to intervene.
I love this picture.
They all look so busy and hard at work.
They did it all by themselves. (Minus slicing the banana.)
But they put the bananas in, scooped the ice cream and added the strawberry, chocolate and caramel toppings.
Travis was a very happy and satisfied first customer and the Penny Ice Cream Shoppe!
