Intussusception

I took Gus to the doctor for his abdominal pain.
After a rectal exam, blood test, and urine sample (via catheter) they sent us to Dell Children's Hospital for a ultrasound stat.
So I showed up only to be told to go to another building who told me to go back to Dell Children's. I was headed out the office door when I got a call from my Doctors office who had a nice talk with the receptionist there who then got me in RIGHT away. Then I got a phone call from the head of scheduling for the WHOLE hospital to apologize and make sure I was being seen immediately and she also had a nice chat with the office staff. Anyways after all those phone calls, and I assume a lot more phone calls, everyone seemed to know about our situation, we got treated like rock stars. We were rushed into the ultrasound and then rushed to the ER got checked in right away, the doctors came in fast, nurses everything.
It turned out that Gus had intussusception. Intussusception is where one part of the intestine slides into another like a telescope and stops blood flow and creates a blockage.
It's really painful and can be deadly if untreated. They were able to reduce it with an air enema. I'm not going to go into detail I think you all understand what an enema is.
So after the procedure he was checked into the hospital for a night and another day to make sure his intestine didn't slide right back into itself. Our little guy was so tough and was the best patient on the whole floor (nurses/doctors words not mine, though I'd readily agree)! He was so amazing through it all! It was a painful and traumatizing experience and Gus is still having a hard time sleeping at night and doesn't leave my side at anytime. I am just so glad he is feeling better physically.
We are so lucky that he didn't have to have surgery, and that the pump worked.
And I am so happy to report that he is doing really great and hasn't had any stomach pain!
Thank you for all of your prayers!
Right before his procedure.
After
The whole 10 minutes he slept that night.
FEELING BETTER!
It was the happiest feeling when he started running around laughing!
He hadn't laughed or played for days and it seemed like forever.

Gosh, I love this boy!
His super arms!
I told him that his IV arm was his super/gun arm to keep him from ripping it out and he would go around zapping people.
He'd do it to me and the nurses/doctors (as they turned their backs to leave)

And lastly the cutest little hospital bum ever!

I'm so glad he is doing better. I've been praying for y'all. He looks so adorable in that hospital gown, though, doesn't he? Hang in there - it'll be back to normal soon.
