Every year I have big plans to celebrate the 4th of July. And it seems like every year we don't actually do said big plans. This year I wanted to head up to Round Rock for their Frontier Days, Sam Bass shootout reenactment, sky divers, rubber duck races, lots of watermelon, live music, etc. Make a red, white and blue themed meals, make crafts, etc.
What ended up doing was playing all morning/afternoon, getting BBQ and premiering Star Wars: A New Hope in the Kelley household. We were going to go see the fireworks in Kyle (one of the very few places that were still having fireworks) but the kids opted for the Star Wars movie (Gus went to bed early, and Kay and I colored Rapunzel pages) and then went to bed. Wyatt is now official obsessed with Star Wars, shouting and jumping up and down at the end "Woowhoo! The good guys won!!! Oh yeah, that was awesome!!"
So even though we didn't do our big plans we were together and that my friends, is really all that matters.
I'm so incredible grateful to live and raise my family in the United States of America.
Thank you to all the soldiers and their families for the sacrifices they've made and continue to make for our country!
God Bless the USA!
