(Yes I do realize her bowl is empty and so does she, but I didn't remember to get the camera until we were all done mixing and measuring so she's reenacting for me.)
Today Kailyn made her first batch of brownies. She's helped make dinner a couple of times but this was her first dessert making and as you can tell from the pictures she loved it. (We tried to get Wyatt to help, or at least let take a picture with us and he was very anti-mommy today so I got nothing but a stern "No Thanks, Momma". )
Then after we baked our brownies we headed down the street to do our recycling and check the mail and we noticed swarms of flying things. I thought they were a bunch of moths (which kind of grossed me out especially the mass amount of them) and then we all realized they were baby butterflies! It was like a movie! The kids kept trying to catch them as we walked down the street, there was thousands of them. No joke. It was pretty awesome and by the time we got back to the house and got the camera we didn't get great pictures. But all the little black dots that look like dirt on the picture are the very fast moving little butterflies. Wyatt and I both tried to get good pictures but like I said those buggers move fast. It was a pretty amazing sight! (For us not you guys, sorry)
Look closely those tiny specks are butterflies. (I know not as impressive as what we witnessed, but use your imagination, multiply it by like a thousand. Picture Hitchcock's movie BIRDS but with beautiful baby butterflies. Seriously THAT many.)
Those two big ones are the Mom and Dad ones Wyatt and I decided they were bringing up the rear after a big rush of the little ones.
Here's one I found offline, taken downtown. And I read up on it and they weren't migrating butterflies they were just hungry butterflies.
