The past couple of days I've tried to do our own home preschool. We usually do are art time, music time, story time, outings, abc's and what not. But now I've actually written out a schedule and we do science experiments now too. What I'd really like though is people who've taken their kids to preschool or have done it at home to give me all the things the kids learn in pre-k or any fun ideas you guys might have. I've been researching it online and all I've gotten is that they learn directions (up,down, middle, top, bottom, beside, under, etc) fast and slow, hot and cold, full and empty, time day/night, their age and birthday, and should be able to identify a calendar. So any other ideas would be so so helpful. Right now we've been doing are ABC's and sounds, picture flash cards, practice writing, learning our months and days, doing a little science experiment, painting, drawing, crafts, field trips, free play, pretend play, story times and song time, game time, cooking and exercising. Once again any tips would be greatly appreciated!

OK! Rewrite simple stories with the kids. This covers reading, writing and art. Books to do are Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and It Looks like Spilt Milk.
Work on today is...Yesterday was...and Tomorrow will be...
Do simple history on the history of holidays. You can add art with this one.
Cooking is reading and math.
Make finger puppets os stories and have Wyatt retell them to you in his own words. Reading Comprehension, very important!

Don't know much about this one, but the have free themed pre-school units.
Also go to the library and look-up preschool ideas. They should have books and books of ideas.
Label your house, write the words of common items, bath, door and so on and tape them to the items. After awhile take them done and have Wyatt tape them to the right item.
If you want more let me know. I taught pre-school for 4 years during my college days. I also have a degree in special education and I homeschool 2 wild and crazy kids.
Love you guys!

Fun interactive web-site for reading.
I also forgot counting. They need to learn to just rote count and then do one-to-one counting to at least 10, higher if he can. Write out the numbers to 10 and have him count and glue that number of dried beans or peas (cheap).
You could start on naming coins.
Have fun!

Shapes, colors and body parts!
Not that they all do this but it is really important...Your real name First and Last and his phone number and address. In case he gets lost.
Last one for tonight, I promise!
