After a short school time (nobody likes it anymore) we went outside to play soccer for a couple of hours. Then during water break we noticed a whole bunch of snail shells. So I asked if they wanted to gather them and bring them inside for observation. They quickly agreed! They were having school time without even knowing it!
Muahhahhahaha!
So after they drew pictures in their school journals we learned about snails. They went nuts when they found out people actually ate big snails! But they thought they're muscular foot, and how it wraps around things to keep itself protected, was really cool. Wyatt insisted on finding a snail alive and make it slither up something sharp to see if they really wouldn't get cut. I was opposed to this, luckily we couldn't find any living snails.

Hi Ashley, Where do you get your school ideas for your kids? You are very creative, and I'd like to incorporate creativity and school work together with my own children. Thanks!
I started with www.everythingpreschool.com they've got a lot of ideas and fun activities. There's also a interactive website www.starfall.com with games for older kids. Then I just kind of wing it. Trying to sneak information in where I can. A lot of the "lessons" we have are just stuff the kids ask about and then we go from there. ie. where do birds live? how do fish breathe under water, what's inside a seashell? how do you make applesauce? etc. Oh and there are a lot of good craft ideas from the blog on my sidebar called filthwizardy. She has some really fun ideas too! Hope that helps!
Thanks a bunch for the tips!
