Since Spring Break is also SXSW here in Austin, Travis is going to be swamped with work. We decided to head out of town before the opportunity was gone. The kids have been dying to go to the farm and visit Grandparents so we packed up and headed out!
Wyatt was very excited at the chance to finally shoot his BB Gun!
First stop was the Kelley's House.
Kailyn LOVES her Uncle Mikey!
She was so happy when he stopped by, I mean just look at her little face, she's practically glowing! The kids left happy and equipped with their own lunch box full of PEZ dispensers! (Thanks to Grandma) And Gus left with a super soft and cuddly cowboy bear blanket (I would take a picture of it but he's sleeping with it right now), which is ohhh soo appropriate for him because we all call him Gussy Bear! Thank you HINDA!
We then headed to my Dad's, which was kind of like base for us. Everyday was spent somewhere else then we'd come back to sleep at my Dad's. Thank you Dad!
Kay looks like Elle Driver AKA California Mountain Snake.
On the way to the farm passing through Huntsville.
Good Ol' Sam
Wyatt's the only one who stays awake for car rides, the kid's like the energizer bunny!
The farm at last!!!
Okay so Wyatt's very interested in cemetery's and death and when things die, etc. (A bit morbid I know) His Zhu Zhu pet broke/died and he was insistent on burying it. Since we don't have a yard (one of the downsides to apartment living) he wanted to bury it at the farm. Which means Kailyn wanted to bury her broken one too.
It was actually a pretty sad service because Kailyn really did cry. Once she realized that it wasn't coming back she quickly recanted her decision on burying the broken toy.
Wyatt found this stick to use as the marker.
Off to find the cows.
They found US pretty quick.
The shot below is what was behind us as we were walking away.
Crazy Cows!
Wyatt off to terrorize some birds.
This is why we call her Crazy Kay.
FISHING!!!
Kailyn probably complained (not probably, she did) about being outside the entire time/day. But then she really got into fishing and it was soo cute. She kept shushing me and the boys so we wouldn't scare her fish away.
Wyatt with Uncle Mikey's baby catfish he caught.
Mike showed up at the farm with some live bait so we could all go fishing.
Which was perfect especially for Wyatt who had is heart set on riding the tractors but it didn't work out. So fishing was a great alternative, thanks Mike.
The next day we headed to the beach!!!!
I LOVE the BEACH!! And I was soo excited to go and so were the kids!
Thank you Travis for taking us, I know how much you hate sand.
As we all know Gus loves ducks and apparently seagulls now too! The second I set him down he was all over the place trying to catch them!
His face once he realized he'd chased the bird too far and was now standing in the water.
The man that made the day possible, love you babe.
Cute Kay in her new (pink, of course) bathing suit!
This picture, so cute right?
Funniest thing about it is they were fighting over the shovel in Gus's hand.
Wyatt was made for the beach!
He loves digging in the sand and building with it.
But I was amazed at how much he was loving the ocean!
He thought getting splashed by the waves was about the coolest thing ever and repetitively said how much he loved being there and how it was the best trip ever!!
Augustus loved the water too! He started to get super cold though. The weather was nice but not warm enough for a baby to be soaking wet. So after an hour he retired to his mommy's and daddy's shoulder wrapped in a towel, getting up to dig in the sand just to ruin Kay's castle, then rest again.
Please I urge you to not click and zoom in on this photo, I look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The only reason why I posted this was because, this was the only photo, unfortunately, that has the sand castles Kay and I built. She did a great job using the Papa Cars technique for building "disneyland".
"Tunnel filled with water" by Wyatt
The cutest beach baby EVER!
Then Thursday we headed over to Grandmother's and PawPaws. The kids were sad when we got the farm early in the week and found out that Grandmother and PawPaw weren't there. So they were super excited when they found out we were going to their house. Especially Kailyn, she loves her Grandmother! I tried to get a picture of it but couldn't, but as soon as we unbuckled her car seat she came barreling out of the car and practically tackled Grandmother with a hug! We were all surprised, only because she's usually a bit shy at first but that's certainly not the case anymore!
Enjoying dessert with PawPaw. She was quiet inside but
Kailyn was talking nonstop to PawPaw once she got outside and playing in his truck. He'd start to answer one of her many, many questions and comments but she'd just cut him off and start jabbering about something new! Sorry PawPaw!!
Kailyn delivering her flowers.
She picked one for Grandmother and me, because she loves us, she said.
Playing in the backyard.
They have such a pretty backyard, so much room to explore!
Grandmother holding a tired Augustus.
Target practice with Daddy.
(BB Gun and a Pellet Gun, for those concerned)
Two of my beautiful crazies.
Augustus loved this old Schwinn they had and had a very hard time letting go of his kung fu grip to let his siblings have a turn.
We've got plans to restore for the kids to ride!
Thank you for having us Grandmother and PawPaw we had so much fun!
After the afternoon at Grandmother and PawPaws we headed back to my Dad's with the hopes of going out on a date. After a rough bedtime with Gus we finally got out the door around 9:15 for dinner. There was a lot of stress and I wouldn't say the best way to start a date but I'm certainly glad we did. My favorite part was the drive home where we stopped and saw our apartment that we lived in when we were first married. Thank you Travis for demanding that we go out, sorry I'm such a spaz about being away from the kids. And Dad thanks so much for watching the kids and putting up with my spaziness too!
Friday our last day we went and fed ducks with my Dad aka PAPA CARS.
And he shocked us all when he did this!!!
I couldn't believe it! Neither could the kids, in fact it made such an impression on Wyatt for the rest of the outing he tried to catch one just like Papa Cars. He got close many a times but was a bit apprehensive.
Look at this face he gives all nonchalant, like he doesn't have a giant duck in his hands!
I love this picture because Wyatt is demanding that the duck quacks if he wants some bread. That kid cracks me up!

I feel so blessed to get to peek inside your world. I love all the pictures and snippets of your conversations. Thank you for showing us the Grandmother and Paw Paw and their farm. We here so much about them but that was a first for me and I felt like I was there too. Memories are like cement that hold families together and you all have a truck load. That is wonderful!!!
