Yesterday I took Wyatt to the doctor to find out he had severe ear infections in both ears! I was so sad for him and a bit shocked because I asked him for days if his ears hurt and he kept telling me no, even when I would apply pressure so it was just insane that his ears have been so horrible this whole time. But he's got medicine now and is starting to feel better thank goodness. We woke up to snow today! It was sad though to wake up to snow and know that Wyatt couldn't go out to play. He's ears were so bad the doctor said his ear drums on both are like two steps away from bursting so we played it safe and I brought the snow to him instead. Now, it snows like once a blue moon here in Austin so I wasn't letting him miss it.
After the kids and I made breakfast, Kay and I suited up and went out to gather the snow.
I brought up buckets upon buckets while Travis stayed inside with the kids (Kailyn wasn't having anymore of the cold weather)
Now you can tell that daddy was watching Gus because he's standing barefoot and glove less about to play in snow.
I noticed when I came back in and fixed him up fast.
With shoes too!
Helping Mom carry the snow,as you can probably tell most of it ended up in the front entry way due to MY clumsiness.
She's getting cold and wet and didn't like it.
Having so much fun building in the snow! I filled the kitchen then decided to head to the bath tub where Wyatt finished building snow dinosaurs!
I wish I had a picture!
Gus went down with me for one of the trips because he was so sad every time I walked out the front door. He wasn't to sure about the snow.
Watching another little baby in the snow. She was head to toe pink and so tiny walking around in the snow, you couldn't help but smile.
Then we cleaned up and made (Hershey's recipe, soo good) hot cocoa!
Fun activities: Coloring on windows with washable markers. Wipes off with damp cloth, the kids had a lot of fun doing it.
Then the kids and Travis set up the makings to add to our giant picture the kids and I started yesterday. Another fun idea from the Ramona & Beezus movie!
It's coming together!
Now let me explain these pictures. When we went to Houston the kids saw a commercial about press dough. It's basically play dough tools with cookie dough to make fun shapes and weird cookies. The kids thought it was so cool and wanted to do it. So I figured we would just try it at home. So I cleaned our play dough tools and then let the kids have at it. It was pretty messy because the tools they had on the commercial probably a bit more advanced than our but they had fun experimenting.
Especially Kailyn, which was a big shocker! She stayed way after Wyatt to keep playing. But it made sense since she loves play dough and this was "play dough" she could eat!
I hope everyone enjoyed their snow day, we sure did!!!
