We went and cut down a Christmas Tree at Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm in Elgin. Last year we went to Elgin's Christmas Tree Farm but opted for Evergreen this time because they opened earlier and Travis had to get to work. The farm itself is a quarter of the size of the one we went to last year and they had barely any trees. But the kids and I had a blast (Travis, not so much)roasting marshmallows, going through the maze, painting pine cones, playing tether ball, petting the goats and drinking hot chocolate (all of which was complimentary, minus the hot chocolate)! The kids and Travis picked a tree and cut it down. Now, in my defense I said that we could just wait around a bit and head over to the other tree farm when they opened for a better selection. I said this more than once. But Travis decided against it and they cut one down, little did we know that it was completely crooked! It was, and is, hilarious! The wind was blowing so strong at the tree farm, so we didn't know then that our tree looks permanently wind blown!
On the tractor ready to go see the trees!
Slim pickin's.
Standing by their "most perfect tree ever"
Double checking for Chipmunks.
Helping Daddy cut down the tree.
Roasting marshmallows, I think he had five!
Feeding the goats.
Waiting for the hot chocolate to not be so hot.
All decorated!
If you'll notice the paper star on top. The whole tree is blown forward so are original star won't stay on or up. But the kids love it, especially since it's in their room!
The kids and I made those candy canes today out of coat hangers and tool fabric from old tu-tu's.

Dude! I would want a Christmas tree in my room too, if I could. That's too funny that its crooked! haha! You will laugh about that for years to come.
