The farm.
We went and decided to very last minute because we originally wanted to spend the weekend in Austin but I've got Sunday teaching and no one to sub so we went to the farm. But we stopped on the way home in the Woodlands and surprised the kids with a night stay in a hotel. They've only stayed in a hotel once and it was for like 5 hours tops on our move over three years ago and they talk about ALL the TIME! So to say they were excited was an understatement.
Gus in his element.
He loved it all.
Helping Dad mow.
Getting too big to fit on laps anymore.
Cooling off after a blackberry hunt.
BLACKBERRIES!
We picked about 5 bowls full and made a delicious cobbler when we got home!
Gus stayed out there the entire time as we all tapered off from picking. He came in with the adults. He's hard worker. I see being a farmer in his future.
SURPRISE!
They were so HAPPY!
We got in a bit late 6:45. But we hopped in our swim suits and went swimming first (salt water pool, that was new for us all, lots of "this water is SAAALLLTTTY") then showered and dressed to go out and eat. Couldn't convince them to, they reallllly wanted to eat IN the hotel. So we went and picked up some Chuy's brought it back to the room and they ate it IN the room while watching cartoons. THEY WERE IN HEAVEN!
As far as sleeping went. Three of us slept. Three of us didn't. (I'll let you guess who.) But all six of us had a blast and a wonderful memory! We all woke up the next morning, some of us already being awake, and headed off to church.
Travis was my sub in Sunbeams too!
"Glad I could help, but I'm not doing that ever again" -Travis
I've got a pretty lively class.
