For breakfast he wanted Egg, Bacon bagels so I happily obliged.
And we started a new tradition.
Travis's mother gave us the beloved "You are Special Today" plate.
When Travis was growing up every year on your birthday you got to eat all your meals on this plate. It was a big deal.
So I introduced it and the kids are already talking about how they get to eat on it when it's there birthday next!
After Gus, Henry and I dropped off the older kids at school we made his birthday cake.
Easiest one yet and he did most of the work.
Then he rode his new bike.. he loves it.
Then per his request went through the car wash. HE WAS SO HAPPY/EXCITED, best 5 dollars spent.
Then my Dad took him on a special Papa Day, just him and Gus since it was his birthday. I missed him a lot and made me sad I wasn't with him, but it's what he wanted to do and it was HIS birthday after all.
Then more bike riding with the big kids!
Waiting for the rest of the family to show up.
We had a Dusty party (from the movie PLANES)
He had fun and didn't notice Dad was gone so that's always a plus.
We played some games (pin the nose on Dusty, design your own airplane, airplane race, and more that I can't remember), ate all of Gus's favorite foods (jelly sandwiches, chickfila nuggets, raspberries, strawberries and dumdums..yep the suckers), opened presents and had some cake and ice cream.
Getting lots of help from big brother and sister.
Giving thank you hugs!
The next day Gus hand delivered (via his bike) little bouquets of dum-dum suckers with a note attached that said "Thanks for coming to my party, it would have SUCKED without you -Gus"
Augustus you're 4!! We made it!! Hopefully this year will be more of my sweet Gussy Bear and not so much of that angry Gus that sometimes eats my Gussy Bear and won't let him out of his tummy. You are such a sweet boy, Gus, with a bit of a wild side and we love you sooo much! You are so strong, very intelligent (the questions you come up with amaze me and often I have to google to find the answers) a wonderful helper an excellent craft maker and a fast critter catcher. You love your older brother and sister and smother your little brother with lots and lots of kisses. Thank you for being my "bestest friend" and spending the days with me. I don't know what I'm going to do when you "leave me all aloned and no one will be home to play with", I try not to think of it. Thank you for letting me be your Mom.
I love you Gussy Bear!!
