1st week of homeschool completed.

We did it!

One whole week of structured homeschooling!

We ended with learning about rainbows, making rainbows and all about colors.

It is amazing how much they've learned and retained in a week.

Wyatt's cruising on his site words and read a book all by himself start to finish today.

He has greatly improved on reading comprehension and his writing is getting better.

He loves school and was disappointed to hear that tomorrow (Saturday) we weren't going to have school time.

Kailyn couldn't care less about school. But she surprises me everyday with what she knows.

She's very tricky like that, right when I think she's not listening/paying attention she starts rattling off all the RIGHT answers!

Gus, sweet and crazy Gus.

He can be a distraction, especially lately he hasn't felt well so he's not a happy camper. But for the most part he'll sit by me and read books to me or I to him while the kids are practicing writing. He does sit at the table and "write" and draw. He actively joins in for free play, story time, music time, recess, and lunch. Then tries to steal the kids: pencils, backpacks, paper, books, crafts, and anything else he feels like trying to rip out of their hands.

It's been stressful trying to get in a routine to keep them all entertained/learning but I'll admit pretty darn rewarding when Wyatt was reading the book to ME, and Kailyn wrote her name correctly all by herself!

They went on a rainbow scavenge hunt then came back and made their rainbows.

Yes, I do realize he has numerous high heels in his "rainbow".

He's got a thing for heels.

This wasn't during school.

But they made their own aquarium equipped with turtles and fish.

I couldn't pass up posting this picture with Wyatt.

W: Cheeeeeeese, look at this super, awesome, turtle and fish tank, that we made because it was my great ideeeeaaaa! Did you get it? Okay now lets show everybody, because it was a pretty great idea huh?? pretty awesome huh, momma??
