A day at the Museum with Daddy
they couldn't be happier!
Kailyn and Wyatt loved this one because of the dog.
The one exhibit they were allowed to touch (even though the monitors didn't like it so much) it was full of pennies and above it was bones and a string of communion wafers. (Representing the things contributing to the building of the missions and how politics and money played a role, or so the plaque says)
Hands on activities
And the following pictures are to make up for the lack of Augustus on this blog.
(He's always with me in the sling so his not pictured a lot. Today we fixed that.)
Thursdays they have story time at the Blanton Museum of Art (which also happens to be when admission to the Museum is free) so we decided to go. The fact that they willingly invite all the kids to story time and then freak out the whole time cracks me up. It was fun to look at all the art and explore with the kids. (Not so fun is the workers following you around like your about to steal something.)Now I understand they're just doing there job and monitoring everything. But I'm not letting my kids touch anything so please go get the group of crazies thataway who are STANDING on the art. Wyatt really enjoyed looking at everything and the story time (where they read stories that could be related to the piece of art they were at). Kailyn enjoyed standing near pictures to get her picture taken and Augustus enjoyed being a happy, sleeping baby in the sling. Travis even got to come with us because he had the day off (but then he got called into work). On the way out we picked up a Museum Passport (free) and you get it stamped at all the different museums (like a real passport) and when you visit 7 you get a free pizza from Austin's Pizza. (But the best part is that it's a passport and they stamp it when you go like a real passport. The kids think it's pretty cool and we're already planning our other six we want to go to and with careful planning they should all be free as well.)(And I know I misuse "( )" these all the time but oh well) So we got back had lunch, learned some stuff, played a lot and took pictures of each other. The End.
