Fantastic Mr. Fox and Rocky THE Raccoon

Doing her rain dance, which must have worked:
Before

After

"Rocky"

After the storm the momma duck (she and her two ducklings live in the pond) went searching for her baby ducks. She had one of them with her but the other one was way across the pond but she eventually got to him and we were so happy we took a picture of them all together.

Today the kids and I headed over to the Alamo (a theatre not the historical marker) to the Summer kids movies event and today they were showing Fantastic Mr. Fox. The kids and I loved it! It was very entertaining and the kids actually sat for the whole thing!(It was a little over an hour long) When we got back we were going to head to the pool after we ate lunch but looked out to see a storm coming our way. We got 6 inches of rain! It was incredible to watch (and play in)! Wyatt and I (Kailyn chickened out after about five minutes) had a fun time playing in all the water and exploring (Travis got home a little early and stayed inside with the baby) but once the lighting started hitting too close we ran (very quickly) back to our balcony to enjoy the storm from there. When it started to calm down Kay and I saw a baby raccoon hop the fence (we've got the nature preserve right by us) but then the little guy didn't know quite what to do once he got over the top. So he just kind of hung there looking so sad. I tried to convince Travis to throw him back over but I did not prevail. Eventually some guy came and kicked the fence so the raccoon dropped (and started hissing and trying to bite him) then he lifted up the bottom of the fence and scooted him under back into the preserve.

I miss those Texas rainstorms! 6 inches is a LOT of water!
