Wyatt has been obsessed with the Blue Angels for about 6 months now and in 6 year old times that's like forever.
So his Grandma Kelley found out they were coming to Houston and promised him she'd get him tickets to go.
And Grandma's promises can be taken to the bank because Wyatt is part elephant and Kailyn's the other part which makes a whole elephant which means between the two of them they never forget!
So with Travis off shore for the month the kids and I went to the Air Show!!
It was 10 hours of incredible!
(Minus the only bathroom being a port-a-potty!)
Thank you Hinda and Roger!!
Preparation
A cold front made its way to us the day before and it was so windy and cold!
But they were troopers and we got there bright and early and were one of the first 50 people inside the gates!
Inside the cockpit with the real pilot!!
That's what we were inside!
So cold and happy!
Wyatt had so much fun looking and walking in all the different air crafts!
OK so here is our perfect spot. Then a lady starts telling me and another lady that last year they closed off this part because it is where all the planes start up. So we moved because we didn't want to be kicked out of our spot once the tricks started. We then moved over to the more crowded spot about 6 rows behind the gate, which sucked seeing as how we didn't bring camping chairs like everyone and their mom did! Then turns out we could have totally stayed there! Double SUCK!
First they have the parachuters jump out. Then all the little planes do neat tricks, but to be honest I really was just waiting for them to plummet into the crowd. Not my most favorite part.
Then they did the war re-enactments. Where they blew stuff up. (Wyatt's favorite part)
Gus got really anxious.
They were all exhausted from the night before and waking up early not to mention hours of sky watching in the cold.
Wyatt was content the whole entire time.
He finally crashed!!!!
The only way to keep him asleep was to add those pretty orange things because the jets kept waking him up.
Phantom
Once the big jets came out and were going super fast Wyatt claps and says "Now that's my kind of air show!!"
F-22 Raptor
Me, catching Wyatt, who was trying to catch the Raptor on its descent.
The Blue Angels!!
These guys were incredible!
Seriously it was just so amazing!
Doing the top gun move.
Augustus woke up from his nap just in time to watch the Blue Angels.
When they did this trick, coming straight at each other and then quickly turning on their sides to pass, Gus covered his face and said "oh no dunna trash dunna trash!" and then when they didn't exclaimed "that's so so AWEEESOOOMMEE!!!"
And this is Wyatt thinking he's going to catch the jet but in fact it looks like he's grabbing that ladies butt and it was just too funny not to post!
The war re-enactment and all the jets were Wyatt's favorite.
Her pretty neckalace (dog tags) was Kailyn's favorite.
The Blue Angels were Augustus's favorite part.
My favorite part was being able to spend the day with my kids doing something they really loved and of course all the jets, they were AMAZING!

I'm sure this was really cool. The closest thing I have seen are the fighter jets from Hill Air Force Base do there fly over's on the forth of July at The Stadium of Fire. There really is something to be said about these amazing machines as they seem to penetrate you to the bone as they fly over head. It even leaves Queen doing their rendition of "We Will Rock You" sound weak.
I luv all the pics of the kids. I can't believe you were in the first 50 to arrive, no wait yes, I can. You my dear look like a movie star and a screen set. Nice!
