24 hours to the minute after Travis left Wyatt had a fever and started complaining of a headache and stomach ache.
I should have known since he took a nap with his Dad right before he left. Wyatt NEVER naps not even an accidental nap in the car he's a Navy Seal when it comes to no sleep and what not.
So after a weekend of fevers Gus joined in on the fun.
So I took them into the Dr assuming it was ear infections since nothing else was bothering them (besides the ear and tummy pain) much besides a general not feeling good.
When the Dr checked their ears and they were good my heart sank. The next thing would be to check for strep. The kids hate strep tests and the last time we had to get them Kailyn threw up all over the floor. It was so sad and I knew she would have to get one if the boys came back positive. So they swabbed their throats the nurse did it pretty fast with no compassion what so ever in what she called "warrior style" and who I called a "bitch" on her way out of the room when she laughed/scoffed at my Augustus who was crying afterwards. Needless to say the next time we will be asking for a different nurse when she comes in. The kids have come to differentiate between the nurses and their dr and they now hate nurses. It's sad.
I hate how pediatricians offices never seem to have all nice people. At our dr the reception and the drs are awesome! The nurses, cold and a bit witchy. At our old peds office the drs and nurses were AMAZING. The reception not so much. Anyways back to the strep test results. The Dr came in, Kailyn was on pins and needles worried she'd have to get one done, when the Dr smiled and threw her hands up and said "It's NEGATIVE!!" we all danced around the room! The boys jumping up and down and Kailyn beaming! She told us a virus was going around just like this and lasted about 5 days and then gone. And that's what happened the boys are totally fine!
So I began bleaching their toys as I began feeling terrible and then I got sicker.
Then I woke up after another sleepless night and felt a lot better. So I took the kids to the pool since everyone was feeling better and fever free for 48hours.
But we were only there for 45 minutes before the lifeguards heard "thunder".
Wyatt was devastated so I tried to make up for a bummer with going out to eat.
We don't do it, the extent to going out to eat is the once in a blue moon to Chick fila, though we should so our kids can practice incase they ever do in the future. So the kids were really excited. Then Kailyn started saying how she was really cold and put on a sweater and then said she wanted her gloves. I felt her head and.................she's got a fever!
So needless to say we never made it to the restaurant.
I'm happy though knowing its just this little virus and that they haven't been puking their poor little guts out. Silver lining folks, always a silver lining.
