The kids painted pictures for Travis.
Then I glued down the track with Elmer's and Super Glue. The kids could actually play with the track AND allow Gus to be in the room at the same time. They all thoroughly enjoyed it.
When Travis woke up we gave him his presents. Wyatt gave him the mini tool box he built yesterday, and a wonderful portrait of Travis! Kailyn drew two pictures for him (which she decided they were "too special for daddy" and wasn't going to give them to him. But quickly changed her mind once she saw how much Trav loved the ones Wyatt did! Crazy girl!). Gus found a picture that had fallen off our wall (we hang the kids artwork like a border around our apartment) hiding under the couch and ran and gave it to Travis too. We gave him the new True Grit and the Orginal John Wayne one. It's the kids tradition every year they get him a new cowboy movie for Father's Day.
The kids filled in this mad lib type thing for Travis too. I found here.
It reads:
Dear Daddy,
You're great! You're as nice as a puppy (nice animal) as handsome as a (good looking animal)peacock and as wonderful as (yummy food)lasagna and chicken enchiladas. You're so strong, I'll bet you could even left (something heavy)our car! A day without you is like having to eat (yucky food) coffee & soda (haha, love this one) all day long. It was so much fun when we (something fun you did with daddy) went on the shamu roller coaster & to the donut store. Lets do that 20 more times. If I had all the money in the world I would buy you a (something daddy really likes) water gun & a dolly. But for today, I'll just give you 5 hugs and 500 kisses.
Happy Father's Day!
Love,
Wyatt and Kailyn
Love this boy and his picture of his daddy! Travis loved it so much he immediately hung it up in our room! It made Wyatt's day!
While we were waiting for Travis to wake up (he works the nightshift). The kids and I went on a nature walk and decided we'd find out if these suckers were edible. So we brought them back for observation. They even recorded it in their science journal. We found out they were wild grapes! How? Google, and I ate one. Yeah, I'm not a really good scientist. Wyatt informed I could have died because it could have been poisonous and that I shouldn't eat berries I don't know. I said that is so true and asked where he learned that. He looked at me and then shouted YOU!!!
The wild grapes.
Cool because they are growing up a tree that we pass on our way to the mailbox, everyday.
We didn't go to church and had an early dinner because Travis had to rush off to work again.
Before Travis left he took out the trash for me, on father's day and everything such a gentleman. When he left I heard someone messing with the door (I was right there doing the dishes) and I turn around to see GUS! He had grabbed the stool from the kitchen and carried it over to the door to reach the locks and knob! Crazy baby, I'm lucky he only knows how to lock them (for now!).
I hope you had a good father's day travis.
Love you.
